Alexis is Midwest born and Pacific Northwest raised. She is excited to be sharing space with the Thrive Direct team, providing services through her private practice, La Conner Counseling. Alexis holds a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest University, a BS in Exercise Science and Wellness from Bastyr University, and certification
in Neuropsychotherapy. She also brings with her over 20 years of experience working as a recreation professional for various cities, community centers, schools, and nonprofit organizations.
Alexis has pursued a career path focused on helping others achieve healthy lifestyles. As such, her approach to counseling has been shaped through a holistic lens. She works in collaboration with individuals to identify and
address their emotional, psychological, spiritual, and physical needs. Her primary approaches are Neuroscience Based, Cognitive-Behavioral, Mindfulness Based, Strengths Based, and Solution Focused Therapies.
In her personal and professional life, Alexis relies on humor, laughter, playfulness, and fun to give herself and others
strength. Outside of the counseling office you’ll find her riding her bike, spending time outdoors, giving her dog pets and cuddles, playing board and card games, and cooking and eating pizza.

Taylor is from Skagit Valley. She has a Masters degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. She enjoys spending time with her family. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and is also credentialed through the Department of Health as a Mental Health Professional and Child Mental Health Specialist. She works with adults clients and also has specialized experience in working with adolescents struggling with depression, self-harm behaviors, suicidal thoughts and attempts, and working with the LGTBQ community. She believes in the power of healing trauma and the importance of moving forward. She owns Skagit Counseling Center and either her or one of her staff will provide counseling services to you or your family. They see all ages and all areas of mental health needs.
