What are hormones?

Hormones are a special messenger that sends messages to control most bodily functions. There are sex hormones, immune hormones, sleep hormones, stress hormones, growth hormones, cardiac associated hormones, digestive hormones, and Vitamin D (Yes, this is a hormone!). Hormones help to protect our body from inflammation and promote a healthy body and mind. They even protect us AGAINST certain diseases including cancer.

How Can Hormone Imbalance be Treated

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT): Typically are not covered by insurances. Prices can range from $40-100 per month depending on treatment.

BHRT pellets are individualized doses of subcutaneous implants that are inserted into the upper buttocks/hip area. They are made of custom compounded hormones and natural binders to hold them together. The hormones are compounded in one of two pharmacies in the United States that are licensed FDA outsourcing centers and are held to strict standards. Every batch of hormones is tested for consistency, purity and comes with our guarantee that our patients are being provided the best possible therapy to help
their healing. (www.biotemedical.com). The in-office procedure takes 15-30 minutes with no impairment of driving. For women, pellets last 3-4 months and for men 4-5 months.

Testosterone muscular injections are typically a weekly or bi-weekly injection given in the buttocks.

Compounded BHRT creams, sublingual tinctures. Progesterone, Estrogen and Testosterone can be compounded into topical creams that are applied either once daily or twice a day.

Thyroid Management can be managed with compounded or prescription NP Thyroid (insurance can cover this one) which is desiccated thyroid and a more natural approach to thyroid management. You should always have your TSH, Free T3, Total T4 tested as well as Thyroid Antibodies if you have Hashimoto's. Your insurance may or may not cover these test depending on symptoms. Through me you would be paying less than $50 cash price (less if member).
