How does the test work?
The finger poke test requires a simple finger poke, and works by detecting the presence of the COVID-19 antibodies for past or present infection. *Current infection may appear in blood within 3-5 days (IgM). Antibodies for past infection occur after 1-2 weeks, and may linger for several months after infection.
The rapid nose test is a swab to the back of the nose and is similar to currently used rapid flu or rapid strep throat test with results in 10 min.
Who is the test for?
The IgG test is for anyone who thinks they may have had COVID-19 and have since recovered; for anyone who has had contact with someone who tested positive for the virus; for healthcare workers, or for anyone who regularly comes into contact with large numbers of people each day. The rapid Nose test is for anyone who is currently symptomatic or has had close on going contact with the virus.
What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
Symptoms can include fever, shortness of breathe/difficulty breathing, cough, pink eye, and/or loss of taste or smell. Symptoms vary and are continuing to change. Basically flu-like symptoms.
Will my insurance cover the testing?
