  1. Medical records for substantiation with prior medical records of diagnosis, imaging support, other supporting documentation IF you are not a current patient of our clinic. These records need to be present AT OR BEFORE our consultation. You may email or fax us these records ahead of time or bring them with you at the time of your consult.

Medical Cannabis

Knowledge of the many benefits and awareness of the risks of medical cannabis is equally helpful. We call it informed consent. While we can help you obtain a medical green card for medical cannabis use — there are certain risks beyond the potential benefits of use. Informed consent is a key component of any medical recommendation or treatment. While we support the use of medical cannabis for its many medicinal uses please review the below for a more comprehensive approach to this therapy.

We standby the notion that anything inhaled is a patient risk and support the PREFERRED use of edible THC/CBD options. How you ultimately choose to use cannabis is your own choice but this is our recommendation and will be included in your consult notes. Oral use of cannabis has a longer half-life. 

We all know there are amazing benefits in herbal and plant based therapies . . . many of which are turned into pharmaceuticals. Imagine that!!! We recognize the well studied and evidenced based use of medical cannabis and will support you in your efforts to receive a medical accommodation for its use in a medically qualified ways.

THC and CBD are 2 different main components of medical Cannabis. We strongly support the use of THC products under the percentage rate of 6-7% for medicinal usage— anything higher and the medicinal benefits decrease and the risks of side effects increase. CBD is widely recommended and supported as an alternative method for many symptoms and is readily available OTC.

We always recommend organic products over all others. Proper research of the quality of the product is up to the patient. We have no preferred vendors.
Your dispensary must have a WA State medical consultant or liaison to help you actually obtain or procure your product for medicinal use.

Our medical recommendation IS NOT A PRESCRIPTION but rather a State authorization for the medical use of medical cannabis following our States recommendations. Please refer to the States Department of Health website for more information.

Possible Side Effects and risks

Use of cannabis is not without its own medical risk. ALL OF WHICH we have personally seen in our field over the years. The following are risks of cannabis use:
  • Cognitive impairment
  • Nausea​
  • Short term memory loss
  • Dependence which can result in withdrawl
  • Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome ​
  • Anxiety and panic attacks
  • Psychosis (this is usually dose dependent)
  • Additive effects on other substances such as alcohol and other substances. Meaning it adds to the side effects and risk.
  • Fungal infections of heart valves leading to heart valve disease (direct smoking of flower)
If used before the age of 25
  • More significant loss of short term memory 
  • Possible lowering of total IQ score
